Summer RV’ing Tips To Stay Cool At Camp

Summer is here and we’d like to share some summer RVing tips. We know you are just itching to head out to Nueces River RV and Cabin Resort with your RV. We don’t blame you. Our park is right on the Nueces River and smack-dab in the middle of the rolling hills and unique vegetation of Texas Hill Country.

You can find fantastic BBQ and crystal-clear lakes and rivers in the area and enjoy the fun and relaxing amenities our RV resort has to offer. Before you head out on your summer vacation with us, here are a couple of summer RVing tips to keep your rig cool while you enjoy fun in the sun.

SUMMER RVING TIPS

  • Keep your RV A/C filters clean. – There are a couple of styles of RV air conditioners, but all of them have at least one filter to keep dust and debris from blowing around. It’s always a good idea to check the filter and clean it as necessary. A dirty filter can restrict airflow and cause your A/C to cool inefficiently.

A quick way to get large debris like pet hair off the filter is to use a vacuum cleaner. For more heavily soiled filters, you can soak them in a solution of mild detergent and water. After rinsing, a good practice is to mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle to prevent bacteria growth. Just spray it and leave it out in the sun to dry.

  • Cook al fresco. – Cooking inside can heat your RV. Grilling food outside at your campsite is the way to go. When you camp at Nueces River RV and Cabin Resort, you are just 4 miles away from excellent BBQ and amazing cuts of meat to grill from your campsite.

King’s Texas Smokehouse in Camp Wood has a menu of mouthwatering ready-to-eat Texas BBQ that includes smoked meat by the pound, burgers, and sandwiches. They also specialize in high-quality, hand-cut meats to grill at camp.

YOUR SUMMER FUN AWAITS

The above summer RVing tips will help keep your RV cooler inside, but Nueces River RV and Cabin Resort has plenty of ways to stay cool outside on your summer RV trip, from our pool and splash pad to floating on the river just a short walk from your campsite.
